I have been using a Pogoplug Mobile for several months now. Setup was extremely simple. It works flawlessly and I use it daily as a mini-server. It also automatically backs up my iPhone photos. On the Mac I use a browser. The built-in interface is great. The iOS app works well and has been updated several times during my short history with the product. So it is supported. I have never used this Companion app nor required support from the company. My purpose for this is to offset the previous negative ones because I think some readers might otherwise pass over a product that works quite well. I have absolutely no affiliation with Pogoplug. I'm just a very satisfied user.

I stopped using Pogoplug 2 years ago after encountering too many bugs and poor support. The device can't handle large files such as backups, but fails to notify user. Virtually no product releases or improvements & poor support while others have entered the market.
Advice: shop elsewhere.

WARNING: We signed up for the family pro Plus account, and the software was so buggy and the support so spotty (despite promised of immediate phone and online support) that after giving them every benefit of the doubt, I had them cancel the account. I then asked for a refund of our $99 annual fee (we had the service for a week and it never worked). They refused and pointed me to what must have been the last page of the long legal agreement. They're right, it's there but nowhere else on the site do they tell you that if you sign and don't like the service you're stuck. My fault? I guess so but they do their best to hide the information. You decision about whether you want to do business with them. We certainly never will again.
